Bob Cohen’s letter to the editor “Climate change” in the Tuesday, May 21, edition of the San Mateo Daily Journal trots out numerous climate change denier talking points that have been addressed and dismissed by NASA, NOAA and scientific organizations around the world. Deniers like Cohen continue to hope they can manufacture doubt about our now obvious climate crisis. It’s long past time to tune out these dissemblers and discuss meaningful solutions.
Who is stopping you from discussing Climate Change Alan? A letter by someone who thinks differently than you does not prevent you from doing what you think is necessary. If that is the case, you are already defeated.
In my earlier school days, sometime back in history (!), those who were math and science challenged, kept quiet about it, and instead tried to listen to discussions among those who knew something about the various subjects, but without interfering or offering a voice. They knew they had nothing to contribute and didn’t want to embarrass themselves by sounding dumb. What a difference from some of today’s circles of know-nothings, where the challenged actually brag about it and show no shame of being ignorant.
Mr. Mattlage – I don’t think doubt needs to be manufactured. Doubt has always been there. Follow the money. But, if you’re such a believer then please give your entire estate to the government within 12 years. Hopefully, it’ll lower my taxes. After all, you should be very thankful you’ve lived past the Rapture and Al Gore’s first end of the world prediction in 2016.
Stopping the conversation is priority #1 four our Republican Politicians in Congress. The EPA is gutted, FDA understaffed and billions in tax cuts for major oil corporations. Off 99% is saying you're wrong and 1% is saying you're right who would you believe? Tgrn there's also their oat answer "Well I'm no Scientist but..."

My goodness, these "great thinkers" are at it again.

I forgot the National Parks. Thousands of acres opened up to oil drilling. What could possibly go wrong?
