Editor,

Susanne Thiel “never sure about the correct number” of civilians killed in Gaza. Very true, because the numbers come from Hamas, who historically has inflated casualties to slander Israel. They have not separated the number of civilians and Hamas fighters, the latter are a legitimate target in the war. Hamas is an unusual enemy, that is willing to harm the Palestinian people to slander Israel in the news media. It has used the people as human shields, and built its military tunnels under civilian buildings of apartments, schools and hospitals. It has stolen food from the people for its fighters. Blame Hamas.

Hamas has chosen to use starving Palestinian children as a weapon against Israel. Hamas started the war against Israel and Israel has no choice but to defend itself from Hamas who has been armed to the teeth by Iran. If Hamas's war is so just, why are Arab Islamic nations asking Hamas to stop it's war against Israel?

Ed - there are too many Islamic factions and compassion many not be baked into their culture. That is still no excuse for us Christians and Westerners to sit idly by and let a population starve. We should take he high road. I believe that Trump has just spoken about that and he will ignore Netanyahu.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Licht. It is amazing how folks give Hamas a pass even though Hamas initiated the attack against Israel. By their logic, I guess Russia gets a pass for attacking Ukraine. Does Hitler get a pass for invading Belgium and Poland? It could all end if Hamas returned all hostages, dead or alive, and surrendered unconditionally. Regardless we should all continue to blame Hamas.
