Editor,
In response to Ed Kahl’s “Why Kamala is unqualified to be president” letter; I don’t agree with Ed’s assessment.
Editor,
In response to Ed Kahl’s “Why Kamala is unqualified to be president” letter; I don’t agree with Ed’s assessment.
Our country has forever been faced with “more international aggression than at any time since WWII.” That’s just a recurring issue, regardless of who is in office.
Funny how Ed is worried about Russia when Trump clearly idolizes Putin. Republicans seem to have issue with us financially supporting Ukraine, and Putin would like nothing better than having Trump back in office. Look how Kamala Harris handled self-proclaimed tough-guy Donald Trump during the debate. Let Russia, China or Hamas try to intimidate us; I believe Kamala Harris can effectively and intelligently put them in their place, too.
And while as a nation we heard little of what Kamala did as vice president, I prefer good work to be done in silence compared to Donald Trump crowing about the great deeds he claimed to have done for the common folk of the United States. I can’t think of much that did for those of us Americans, and tax breaks for the rich don’t help the majority of everyday Americans.
Lastly, positioning Trump as more qualified than Harris to run a country is absurd. He’s done nothing but dwindled his father’s fortune into one failed endeavor after another.
I’d prefer if we don’t let him “try again” with the great United States of America. And if you disagree, I have an expensive bible and NFT digital trading card to sell you.

I for got to mention that Kamala Harris has plans to out spend Joe Biden whose spending produced a 40 year inflation high with the so called “Inflation" Reduction Act. Kamala is an inveterate socialist raised by Marxist parents and her spending plans would open the door to raising income taxes to European levels of 65%. Kamala's combined inflation and tax increases would significantly erode the purchasing power of all Americans and devastate our economy.
Ed - you may want to augment your statement that some Europeans bay a marginal tax rate 0f 65%. But, if you have not spent anytime there, you probably are not aware that they are getting a lot back for their taxation. Better infrastructure, reasonable healthcare, lower cost secondary education and generally devoid of crime. Our effective tax burden is quite high and we don't see the results in our daily lives as do the Europeans. Our taxes are squandered through labor unions and special interests, many of them donors to ensure political outcomes. That is very American, money and politics. With Harris in power all of that 65% will vanish in the pockets of her benefactors.
Hey Mike - have your read the news lately? "Let Russia, China or Hamas try to intimidate us; I believe Kamala Harris can effectively and intelligently put them in their place, too" . They have intimidated us for the last three years. What makes you think cheap talk from a 4th grade-caliber candidate will make a difference for the next 4 years? I also wonder why nobody checked whether Harris was wired during the debate. Her performance was not her usual self. Obama even admitted once that he could steer anyone with an ear piece. I realize that this is a sensitive topic but I have my suspicions.
Dirk,
I am glad that you admit Kamala is two years ahead of the 2nd grade petulant child, Donald. I am sure you can see how easy it is to fluster DJT and send him into an uncontrollable rage of lies just by teasing him about his crowd sizes.
Taffy - I believe Trump was totally unprepared for the typical attorney strategies. Harris is an attorney by trade, a hired gun who will do or say anything a client tells her what to. She has no personal convictions and rattles of what she has been told. Any attorney will corner you and me in no time, that is what they are trained to do. Trump should have known better.
Dirk,
Yes, Trump should have known better and I am sure he did know better but he can't control his emotions being a narcissist that only thinks he is entitled to praise and adoration. Do you really want someone so emotionally unstable to be president of the USA? Our foreign adversaries can see how unstable he is also. Do you really want to go to war over "crowd size"?
Yawn, snore…more throwaway comments from Taffy. Hey Taffy, Trump has already been President and there were no new wars during our great President Trump’s presidency. Perhaps Trump being what you describe as “unstable” is an asset unlike Biden/Harris who both took two knees and gifted Afghanistan to the Taliban. What are they, incompetent? As for war, it is a much higher possibility now with the current folks in office than ever before. Please join us in the present and to borrow from your usual shtick, not your “fantasy” world.
Terence,
I have heard there’s some cats and dogs missing around the Bay Area. Are you stocking your freezer for the winter?
Yawn, snore…Another day, another version of the Democrat playbook from Mr. Hagmaier, where he attempts to pass off debunked talking points as a positive for Harris. Sorry, Mr. Hagmaier, why would we bother with a candidate whose only policies of note copy our great President Trump’s policies? Why bother with the middleman (middlewoman in this case) with a cheap imitation when you can get the real thing in a proven leader who has already Made America Great Again? Don’t forget, Putin supports Kamala. Don’t settle for less, vote for Trump to Make America Great Again. As for your expensive bible and NFT digital trading card… of course they’re expensive (just about everything is more expensive) thanks to Biden/Harris’s America Last inflation increases. To borrow from FFGig (who I haven’t heard from in a while – I hope he’s okay), “Wow...so many words. So much garbage.”
Well Mike, you got one seal to clap for your distortions and lies, Jorge chimed in right on cue. Putin loves Trump so much that Putin endorsed cackling Kamala, did you forget or are you just uninformed?
And with respect to your lies about tax cuts, below are the tax brackets before and after Trump's tax cuts.
2017 Tax brackets 2019 Tax brackets
10% up to $19,400 0% - $9,700
15% $19,401 - $75,900 12% - $9,701 - $78,950
25% - $75,901 - $153,100 22% - $78,951 - $168,400
28% - $153,101 - $233,350. 24% - $168,401 - $321,450
33% - $233,351 - $416,700 32% - $321,451 - $408,200
35% - $414,701 - $470,000 35% - $408,201 - $612,350
39% - $470,001 - above 37% - $612,351 - above
A married person in 2017 whose taxable income was $75,000 would have paid $10,387 in taxes and in 2019 would have paid $7,836 in taxes. FYI - $7,836 is less than $10,387, thus he / she paid $2,551 less in taxes and as a percentage it is 24.55% less.

Thanks for a timely rebut!
It makes us wonder if Putin has given Trump an ultimatum: Either YOU destroy America, or I'll expose everything I know about you, - and destroy YOU!
