Editor,

Our country is faced with more international aggression than at any time since World War II.

And who do YOU think is qualified, Ed? Trump? Yeah, after having shown himself to be totally unqualified, - over and over again, - and now even more than ever, even if it seemed impossible to get any worse? Get real, Ed, and stay away from the FOX Lie channel!

There is zero evidence Putin or Russia wants to invade East Europe. If you can post link to any good evidence please do so. In fact, over the past 30 years the US has expanded NATO to the east 1000 miles to Russia's borders. So it is the west, not Russia, that has “invaded” East Europe. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia occurred AFTER the U.S. installed a neoNazi anti-Russian government in Ukraine in 2014 and began arming and training Ukraine to NATO standards. Also the Ukraine government were ethnically cleansing the ethnic Russian majority in the eastern provinces. They were conducting an evil “dirty war” with CIA assistance.

Russia was deliberately provoked into invading Ukraine by the US crossing Russia’s red lines in Ukraine and East Europe which were well known by the West for many decades.

There is precedent as the US neocons did the same thing in Afghanistan in 1979 by arming Islamist extremists to cause the former Soviet Union to invade Afghanistan. In both cases the goal was the same: to weaken Russia by causing it to extend itself militarily.

Kamala Harris is more likely than Donald Trump of continuing this evil policy of provoking Russia that has cost 100's of thousands of Ukranian lives. She has received the endorsement of the number one neocon, Dick Cheney.

JCar, zero evidence Putin wants to evade Eastern Europe? Russia invaded Ukraine twice! First, taking Crimea. Then, getting greedy and invading Ukraine's sovereign territory. There is also zero evidence Kamala Harris will continue to "provoke" Russia and helping to continue the war. Need further evidence? The UN nearly unanimously voted Russia violated international law by its invasion.

Russia took Crimea -a part of Ukraine which reportedly has strong support for Russia and the site of an important Russian naval base - right after the US neocon sponsored coup in Ukraine in 2014. The Western corporate media never talks about the US neocon role in Ukraine and East Europe which is massive and has been going on for decades. The reason the media never talks about U.S. interference is because it would put the lie to the Western propaganda that Russia invaded Ukraine "unprovoked."

Kamala Harris in a recent recording stated twice she was "honored" to have the support of Dick Cheney, one of the most preeminent and evil neocons in history. Both parties are carrying out the neocon agenda in foreign policy, which is to control the planet, and there is little difference between them.

What nonsense! The 1979 war between the Sovjets and Taliban, is just another war we foolishly got ourselves involved in! We should have kept totally out of it and let the Russians fight it out with the enemy of mankind, - the Taliban! The last thing we should do, is to help the Taliban! How stupid was that? It is very likely that a lot would have been different, and to our advantage, if we had been smart enough to stay out of it. What kind of administration did we have back then? Oh, yeah: Republican, to be followed decades later by another foolish Republican administration, who found it necessary to attack both Afghanistan and Iraq – because an imaginary voice in George W. Bush head by a fantasy figure, told him so. And as the dutiful Christian he was, he blindly followed the disastrous “advice”. And, of course, as always, - it took a more responsible and competent Democratic administration to clean it up, - and in that case, President Obama’s!

JCar

Jimmy Carter was president in 1979 and was president when the policy of supporting and arming the Taliban started. Carter’s policy of supporting the Mujahiddin began BEFORE the Soviets invaded, not after, and continued for the entire war which lasted 10 years. The neocon US National Security Adviser under Carter, Zbignew Brzenzinski wanted to give the Soviets their own Vietnam to weaken them.

Obama did not clean up that war, which ended in 1989. The government that the Taliban fought fell three years later, in 1992, so that war had nothing to do with Obama.

Jorg

There's still lots of clean-up to do, both after Afghanistan and Iraq, putting extra burdens on Democratic Presidents Clinton, Obama and Biden, - and now something that VP Harris inherits and has to deal with.

Terence Y

Well written, Mr. Kahl. Once Biden/Harris took two knees and gifted Afghanistan to the Taliban it was pretty much open season across the world because they realized Biden/Harris was incompetent. And isn't it amusing that the "facts" that ABC debate co-conspirators tried to refute against Trump have turned out to be false? Seems we need fact-checkers to check the fact-checkers.

Jorg

Ed: You must be joking, aren’t you? And if not, who would you have instead? TRUMP? He was no match against Kamala Harris, - didn’t you watch the “debate”? Trump even believed blindly something he said he had heard on TV about Haitians eating people’s pets! HOW naïve is it possible to be, except we saw it clearly while he was occupying the WH, totally incompetent as he was, and even worse now! Get real, Ed, and get yourself out of the blind Trumpian cult! You are better than that!

Dirk, what's your excuse?
