Mary M. T. Chow passed away peacefully on Sept. 28, 2005 at the age of 70 after a courageous 15-month battle with liver cancer. She was born in San Mateo. After graduation from San Mateo high School, she began working as a clerk-typist for the General Services Administration. GSA is the agency that is responsible for all purchasing and property management for the federal government. Through her skills and abilities she rose through the ranks to become Inventory Management Branch Chief, GM-13, which was then a rare and unusual achievement. She retired in Feb. 1993 after 39 years with GSA.

She was very active and involved for more than 50 years with Community Baptist Church, accepting many responsibilities and helping to make it the late and thriving church that it is today.
