SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A California initiative to once again make shoplifting a felony for repeat offenders is developing into a contest over whether the state's Democrats are tough enough on crime to hang on to their seats in Congress.

A broad coalition of law enforcement and retailers aims to crack down on retail theft in the state, where videos of large groups of people brazenly rushing into stores and stealing in plain sight have gone viral. A proposal on the verge of appearing on the November ballot calls for harsher penalties for repeat shoplifters and drug dealers, among other things. The measure is set to be certified by the secretary of state Thursday.

Californians – you get the government you deserve. So if you don’t like what’s happening now, make your choice for candidates supporting law and order. And of course, be aware of wolves in sheeps’ clothing - folks that will say whatever you want to hear and then turn their back on you once they’re elected. Or, for those with the means and opportunity, move out of California to a better governed state. Your and your family’s life may depend on it.

Not So Common

Terrence you're correct. Gavin Newsom, democrat voters, Jorg, Rel, Taffy, Mike, and the CA state Democrat legislature are 100% responsible for the conditions of California. Homelessness if off the charts, cities are like war zones , police are defunded, criminals all have "get out of jail free cards," shoplifting is the new way of shopping, sidewalks are saturated with human waste, the town of Bedrock in the Flintstones had better roads, we now pay to drive on pot holes, illegal immigrants roam our streets and receive free healthcare while veterans and seniors are turned aside. When will the sheep wake up?
