The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is waiving adoption fees for rabbits in May and is inviting new bunny parents to “Hop into Spring.”

Shelter officials said rabbits are perfect pets for people who live in smaller homes, and are quiet animals that are trained to use litter boxes.

Interested new owners can find the rabbits at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

Although the adoption fees are waived, shelter officials said there will be a strict and rigorous application process to make sure the rabbits go to safe and suitable homes.
