Seton Medical Center in Daly City.
Seton Medical Center has selected Vituity/CEP America of California to provide physician services at the hospital’s Emergency Department under a new contract effective Nov. 18.
Seton made the change after its previous provider, NES Western Group, breached its contract by failing to pay its emergency physicians working at Seton and at other hospitals nationwide.
“At no time were patients at our Emergency Department without care,” Sarkis Vartanian, administrator of Seton Medical Center, said in a press release.
Under its contract with Seton, NES was obligated to compensate Seton’s Emergency Department physicians. Physicians complained to Seton that NES had not been paying them for some time. Seton reached agreements with terminated NES physicians to pay them directly until Vituity/CEP America’s services commenced Nov. 18.
