A Redwood City man arrested in connection with a 2017 Millbrae home burglary is facing 13 years, four months in state prison after he pleaded no contest Wednesday to three counts of residential burglary, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
In custody on $500,000 bail, Ulises Jaimes, 28, also admitted he had two prior felony strikes Wednesday and will next appear in court April 4 for sentencing, according to prosecutors.
Jaimes is one of six suspects arrested after a Millbrae woman in November of 2017 realized her home was being broken into and climbed onto the roof to call police, spurring a multi-hour manhunt, according to prosecutors previously.
East Palo Alto residents Fernando Lozano, 24, Armando Diaz-Jaimes, 30, Araceli Arroyo Martinez, 27, Gabriel Godoy, 23, and San Carlos resident Christa Chacon, 23, were also charged in the home burglary during which jewelry and some $9,000 in cash were taken, according to prosecutors.
The incident began Nov. 29, 2017, around 1:30 p.m. when the victim heard someone kicking in the side door of her home on Arroyo Seco. She was able to hide on her roof where she could see the suspects rummaging through her property but they couldn’t see her as she called 911. As deputies arrived, they found Lozano, Jaimes and Godoy exiting the home. The trio allegedly ignored orders to stop and Jaimes and Godoy fled on foot into a wooded area near the house while Lozano got into a white BMW and drove directly at two deputies, who were able to jump out of the way, according to prosecutors.

A search in which deputies and K9s flooded the residential neighborhood turned up Lozano, who allegedly crashed into patrol cars while trying to flee, and Jaimes, who was seen coming out of the bushes at a gas station and into a car occupied by Diaz-Jaimes and Arroyo Martinez several hours later, according to prosecutors.
Diaz-Jaimes and Martinez were charged as accessories to the crime, and the car they were driving was found with the cash and jewelry from the home, according to prosecutors. Lozano, who also has two prior strikes, has pleaded not guilty to charges of residential burglary, two felony counts of assault on an officer, felony hit-and-run and resisting arrest, according to prosecutors.
Godoy was booked into jail on felony burglary and misdemeanor resisting arrest charges and Chacon was charged with accessory to the burglary, according to prosecutors.
On Dec. 14, 2017, Diaz-Jaimes pleaded no contest to felony accessory and was placed on three years supervised probation and 60 days county jail with no credit for time served, according to prosecutors.
