Police are still doing the leg work on a mysterious Foster City shooting that landed a man in the hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot last night.
When police arrived at the Charter Square Shopping Center parking lot in response to the sound of a gunshot at around 6:50 p.m., Capt. Craig Courtin said there were no victims on the scene.
"But we did see some blood," Courtin said.
A short time later, Courtin said police got a call from the San Mateo Police Department saying a man had been hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his foot.
The victim was taken to San Mateo County General Hospital by family members who were on scene. The injuries are not life threatening, Courtin said.
Police were still waiting for the 23-year-old victim's medical condition to be determined last night before questioning him.
"Right now we're just looking at things and still investigating the case," Courtin said.
