Four people are suspected of being part of a retail theft ring were arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing clothing from the Lululemon at the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo, according to police.
At about 1:56 p.m. June 20, police responded to the call of a theft at the athleisure wear retailer at the mall where witnesses said they saw three suspects, a man and two women, grab about $10,000 worth of clothes and run out of the store into a waiting white Subaru Outback, which drove off toward Highway 101, according to police.
At the same time, the Organized Retail Theft Task Force, consisting of officers from the San Mateo, Daly City and San Bruno police departments, started to search for the white Subaru that fled the scene of the crime. The task force found the car driving north on Highway 101 and followed the car into San Francisco. Officers attempted to stop the car, however, the driver fled from police recklessly and the pursuit was stopped, according to police.
With the help of San Francisco police, the Subaru was found abandoned a few blocks away and the four suspects were found. The stolen clothing was found in the car, according to police.
The suspects, Jesus Olivarez, 31, of Antioch, Campy Massutti, 32, of San Francisco, Sierra Mansanares, 27, of San Francisco, and Theodore Gore, 30, of San Francisco, the alleged driver, were all arrested and later booked into San Mateo County Jail on various felony charges.
