The Alameda County Transit District is launching regular express bus service from the East Bay to the Peninsula today.
Line M San Mateo Bridge will officially begin service March 17. Service will be free the first month of service, said a AC Transit spokesperson. Expanding service and providing a month of free ridership is strange in these economic times, the spokesperson admitted.
The service will have 14 trips a day in each direction during weekday commute hours. It will stop in the Caltrain Castro Valley Park and Ride lot, the Castro Valley and Hayward BART stations, Southland Mall and Chabot College. On the Peninsula, Line M sill stop at Vintage Park and Metro Center business complexes, the Foster City Library and City Hall as well as the Hillsdale Caltrain station and Hillsdale Shopping Center.<
