In admitting he helped cover up the 2016 murder of a Millbrae man and father of two, one of three suspects charged with the crime pleaded no contest to being an accessory to murder and agreed to testify at the September trial of his co-conspirators Friday, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Olivier Adella
As a part of the deal, Olivier Adella, 42, is facing a maximum sentence of three years in state prison, most of which could be fulfilled by his credit for time served. Adella has been in custody without bail since his May 2016 arrest, according to prosecutors.
Tiffany Li
The deal is also expected to offer evidence that could shed light on the alleged actions Adella, Hillsborough woman Tiffany Li, 32, and her boyfriend Kaveh Bayat, 31, took to murder Keith Green, according to prosecutors.
Kaveh Bayat
“It changes the complexion of the trial a little bit,” said District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe. “It isn’t circumstantial evidence, it’s direct evidence of how the crime occurred.”

Li, the mother of Green’s children, was previously being charged for his murder alongside Bayat, who is being accused of pulling the trigger of the gun that killed Green, and Adella, who was long believed to be the muscle behind the crime. Wagstaffe said Adella admitted to being involved in disposing of Green’s body after the murder.
Li and Bayat’s trial, which has been set for Sept. 17, will now proceed without Adella as a co-defendant, according to prosecutors.
Li was alleged to have a custody dispute at the time of 27-year-old Green’s disappearance April 29, 2016. Almost two weeks after he met up with Li at a Millbrae pancake house the evening he disappeared, Green’s body was discovered near a Sonoma County homeless encampment May 11, according to prosecutors.
Li posted $35 million bail by putting up several Bay Area properties valued at $62 million along with $4 million in cash in April. Bayat was assigned $35 million bail in June but remains in custody, according to prosecutors.
Adella, a Burlingame resident, will remain in custody and without a sentence until after Li and Bayat’s trial is complete, according to prosecutors. Defense attorneys did not respond to requests for comment aside from Geoff Carr who said this deal was expected.
