A San Mateo man convicted of felony residential burglary and misdemeanor sexual battery related to incidents in which he burglarized multiple homes and groped victims inside and at a San Mateo gym was sentenced to three years state prison Tuesday, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

Though the defense attorney for Ismael Espinoza-Vasquez, 25, allegedly requested his client receive probation and the opportunity to apply for a program to help him with his methamphetamine addiction, Judge Donald Ayoob denied probation, according to prosecutors.

Three years? If he behaves in prison he will likely be out in 18 months. And we are supposed to feel safe with guys like this roaming the streets? Has our concern for victims and safety been completely eclipsed by concern for criminals?

That would be what seems to have happened here in the bay area. You dont have to look any farther than the case of Kate Steinl.
