A man accused of trying to steal a catalytic converter in Belmont has pleaded no contest and sentenced, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office said.
Jose Carrillo Ramirez, 53, of Oakland, was accused of cutting catalytic converters on Davey Glen Road at 4 p.m. Oct. 29, the DA’s Office said.
Ramirez was seen by police walking away from a white van with cutting tools and a catalytic converter and arrested. He pleaded on contest Nov. 10 and was sentenced to one year probation and 25 days in county jail. His next court date is Jan. 13.
