A Redwood City man arrested for stabbing another man during a fight at Sequoia Station was officially charged with assault with a deadly weapon, San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The man, Cody Washington, 20, allegedly stabbed the victim several times and was arrested after a fight in the breezeway of Sequoia Station in Redwood City on Jan. 15, according to police.
At about 8:11 p.m. Jan. 15, police were called to the location on the report by sheriff’s deputies who happened upon the assault in progress when they were conducting a routine check and saw the fight in the breezeway. The victim was rushed to the hospital but will survive, Wagstaffe said.
Both victim and defendant were under the influence of alcohol, Wagstaffe said.
Washington has another pending felony case for car theft and fleeing police. Both cases will be heard at the end of the month, and he remains in custody on a $50,000 bail, Wagstaffe said.
