A bill introduced to Congress by Tom Lantos (D-San Mateo/San Francisco) was signed by President Clinton on Wednesday. The bill "Golden Gate National Recreation Area Boundary Adjustment Act of 2000" will expand the boundaries of the Golden Gate National Recreation area to include an additional 1,000 acres in San Mateo County, Marin County and San Francisco.

The 1,000 acres is currently undeveloped land. Nine hundred acres of those are in San Mateo County, primarily in and around Pacifica; 95 acres are in Marin County and 2 acres are in San Francisco.
