A former teacher at two San Bruno elementary schools was found guilty of 17 counts of child molestation for assaulting four students, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
Jeremy Yeh, 34, who was out of custody on a $1.3 million bond, has since been remanded into custody and faces ups to 425 years to life in prison. “He should ever walk free,” Wagstaffe said. “This man should spend the remaining days of his life locked up.”
Yeh, a San Mateo resident, formerly taught first and second grade at El Crystal and Allen elementary schools. Between 2016 and 2022, he allegedly sexually abused several students, touching them under and over their clothes, according to the DA’s Office.
Bobby Thompson, a lawyer for two of the four girls Yeh assaulted who testified at jury trial, said he will be filing a civil suit against the school district. The principal for the district allegedly called the first victim who reported the molestation a liar and forced her to recant her story, Thompson said.
“We’re going to shine a light on this school district — what they did and what they didn’t do,” Thompson said.
