The middle school winners of the George L. Garrett Scholarship Award were announced at the Redwood City School District Board of Directors meeting June 4 by the Redwood City Police Officers Association.
Students are selected for the award due to their academic achievement, leadership and community service.
The scholarship is in memory of Redwood City Detective Sergeant George L. Garrett, who was killed in the line of duty in 1981.
Rachel Musser, the graduating senior, won a $1000 scholarship that she will use in the fall at the University of California at Davis.
The eighth grade winners each received a $100 cash award.
Fourth of July activities at the Port of Redwood City
