Application period opens for the 2025-26 San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury. The Honorable Stephanie G. Garratt, presiding judge of the San Mateo County Superior Court, announced the appointment of the Honorable Rachel Holt, Assistant Presiding Judge, as the 2025-26 San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury Advisor. Judge Holt’s term will begin July 1.
The application period to serve on the 2025-26 Civil Grand Jury began on Feb. 3 and will close on March 31. “Any U.S. citizen and San Mateo County resident, 18 years of age or older, of ordinary intelligence, sound judgment and good character, with sufficient knowledge of the English language” is eligible to serve on the Civil Grand Jury. Elected public officials are not eligible.
The Court strives to obtain a cross section of the San Mateo County population to serve in this prestigious role and all interested residents are encouraged to apply. After the completion of an interview process conducted by Judge Holt, jurors will be selected through a random draw.
