A juvenile was robbed of his cellphone, boxing gloves and AirPods after being punched in the face multiple times on the 100 block of South Humboldt Street in San Mateo Tuesday night, but police said his assailants were quickly arrested.
At about 5:58 p.m. April 8, the juvenile was attacked by three people who came out of a Honda driven by another. He has visible injuries, including a large bruise above his left eye. He recognized three of four of them and gave officers their first names. Officers confirmed the driver was Ever Jacobo-Castro, 21, of Foster City, according to police.
Shortly after the incident, a traffic officer located a similar vehicle occupied by four male occupants around El Camino Real and 12th Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted, and the four male occupants were detained. The victim identified the occupants as the suspects in the robbery. Another officer located the victim’s cellphone nearby, but the other property was still missing.
All four suspects were arrested for robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Jacobo-Castro was transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail, while the three juveniles were transported to Hillcrest Juvenile Hall, according to police.
