A two-alarm fire continues to burn at an abandoned warehouse in an unincorporated part of San Mateo County this morning, Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman said. Units responded to reports of fire at the abandoned commercial structure in a North Fair Oaks neighborhood at 2944 Huntington Avenue at around 1:35 a.m., Schapelhouman said. Arriving firefighters found the warehouse roof fully engulfed with flames, and a second alarm was called at 1:50 a.m. The roof has since fully collapsed, Schapelhouman said, and crews will remain on scene until daybreak when an investigation into the cause of the blaze will begin. Crews will also be able to determine if anyone was inside the structure when the fire began. No injuries have been reported. A portion of Middlefield Road was still blocked by emergency vehicles at 3 a.m., Schapelhouman said. The road was expected to reopen to traffic early this morning.
