The secrets behind a memorable World Cup anthem, from Shakira and more
NEW YORK (AP) — What makes a memorable FIFA World Cup anthem? Is it a global banger? A song performed in different languages and across internationally popular genres to speak to as many countries as possible? Or should it simply value a chant-along chorus above all? The Associated Press asked a few of the performers behind the most popular World Cup anthems of all time to get to the bottom of it. According to Shakira, J Balvin, Wyclef Jean and Nora Fatehi, it is all of the above. A good anthem chooses rhythm, catchy hooks and expresses unity.

As FIFA entices a new generation of fans, a Brazil influencer's platform will stream all 104 games

Younger audiences will get increased access to soccer’s showcase event as FIFA pushes to engage the next generation of fans.

This agreement adds to the likelihood of long-term labor peace in Hollywood despite industry upheavals. The collective bargaining agreement must still be approved by the guild’s national board and ratified by the guild membership.
Movie Review: This train’s going fast, but the jokes fly even faster in “Stop! That! Train!’
The runaway bullet train travels fast in “Stop! That! Train!” But the jokes and gags? They come even faster. There's a sweet madcap feel to the movie, a disaster-flick spoof directed by Adam Shankman and starring RuPaul and alums from the “Drag Race” universe. RuPaul is a hoot as President Judy Gagwell, but the heart of the movie, writes Associated Press critic Jocelyn Noveck in her review, is the duo of Tess and DeeDee (“Drag Race” alums Ginger Minj and Jujubee), train hostesses whose friendship is tested as they navigate a perilous ride through a catastrophic “Stormaganza.” Opens Friday in theaters.
