The Bulldogs cruised to a non-conference win over the visiting Rams.
Christian Stapleton had a huge day at the plate for CSM (6-3 overall), going 3 for 4 with five RBIs as the Bulldogs scored 10 runs on 15 hits. Sean Prozell drilled a two-run homer and also added a double. Danny Carnazzo and JJ Ota also had doubles for the Bulldogs.
Nico Zeglin worked the first five innings on the mound, allowing three unearned runs on four hits as he improved to 2-0 on the season.
College softball
San Mateo 8, West Valley 0
Emily McAdams allowed just one hit while striking out 11 as the Bulldogs posted an eight-run, mercy-rule win over the Vikings.
The only base runner McAdams allowed was an infield hit as she improved to 4-0 on the season.
Aubrie Businger and Kaitlyn Grech led the offense for CSM (6-1 overeall) as both went 3 for 3 and drove in a run. Kaylyn Sterling added a pair of hits for the Bulldogs as well.

Women’s college basketball
San Mateo 74, Las Positas-Livermore 38
Kyana Wiley poured in 28 points to lead the Bulldogs to a lopsided win over the Hawks to take over sole possession of fourth place in the Coast Conference North.
Las Positas stayed close for a quarter, trailing CSM 17-13 after one quarter. But the Bulldogs outscored the Hawks 41-15 in the second and third quarters to take control of the game.
Kaitlyn Tamondong added 12 points for CSM.
Chabot 70, Skyline 58
The Trojans fell to the Gladiators in a battle for second place in the Coast Conference North.
Kalisi Fononga posted a double-double for the Trojans, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Olga Faasolo and Giselle Mahinay each added 10 points for Skyline.
