The Wildcats (6-2) came out swinging, scoring nine runs in the first inning for a runaway non-league home win against Hillsdale (5-2). The win marks the third straight for Woodside, and snaps a three-game winning streak for the Fighting Knights.
Senior Anderson Comfort and junior John Tinson both went deep for the Cats. Comfort now has two homers on the year. Tinson’s was the first of his two-year varsity career.
Junior Charles Dalrymple added three hits and four RBIs, and senior Carter Bell went 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Hillsdale managed just one hit with a double from junior Curtis Lee.
Bell earned the win with three solid innings of work, allowing one run (none earned) on one hit. His record improves to 3-1 with a 2.47 ERA. Junior Hunter Taylor and sophomore Colby Fernandez closed out the five-inning mercy-rule game with a hittless inning apiece in relief, each issuing one walk but striking out the side.

Westmoor 19, Balboa 8
The Rams (3-1) won a wild back-and-forth game on their home diamond in non-league play, in a game that saw three lead changes and a big finish in the bottom of the sixth for a walk-off mercy-rule decision.
Balboa-SF (0-7) rallied for four runs in the first and took a 5-1 lead into the third, when Westmoor swung ahead with a five-run rally in the bottom of the frame. Balboa took the lead back 7-6 with a two-run fourth. But the Rams set the stage for a big finish with a three-run rally in the fifth, before exploding for 10 runs in the sixth to walk it off.
Balboa pitchers issued 19 walks and four hit batsmen, as Westmoor managed just five hits on the day. Senior Matthew Cote led the way, going 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, while sophomore Cristian Fausto added a double and four RBIs. Senior Buddy Wysinger paced Balboa with two hits with an RBI.

Aragon (4-3), fueled by a six-run fourth, won 8-6 in a non-league home game against Washington-SF (3-5).
