Mills 1, Half Moon Bay 0
Vikings’ pitcher Tino Janke tossed as a gem to lead his team past the Cougars in a PAL Ocean Division game.
The win split the two-game series for Mills (1-1 PAL Ocean, 2-5 overall).
Janke went the distance, giving up just one hit, with five walks and three strikeouts. Connor Heath had the only hit for HMB (1-1, 3-5).
Mills scored the game’s only run in the top of the seventh, an unearned run. Nate Lafon had two of the Vikings’ six hits.
Andreas Hipkins might have been even more dominant on the mound for the Cougars. Hipkins worked the first six innings, striking out 10 but got a no decision.
Capuchino 4, King’s Academy 2
Twenty-four hours after dropping a 4-1 decision, the Mustangs rallied back to beat the Knights in the second game of a two-game set.
King’s (1-1 PAL Bay, 5-3 overall) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Capuchino (1-1, 6-4) scored one in the top of the third and added three more in the fifth as the Mustangs scored four runs on 12 hits.
Anakin Manuel had a day at the plate for Capuchino. He went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a home run and drove in all four runs for the Mustangs. That made a winner of Declan Mendel, who pitched a complete game, holding the Knights to two runs on four hits, while striking out six.
Ethan Johnson and Nate Plata each drove in a run for King’s Academy.
Menlo School 9, Westmont 1
Leading 3-0 after two innings, the Knights put the Warriors away with three runs in both the top of the fifth and sixth innings to pick up the non-league win.
Renner Barnett doubled and drove in three runs for Menlo (3-5 overall), while Chuck Wynn added a two-run double. Jackson Flanagan got the win, tossing a complete game, holding Westmont (2-5-1) to one run on four hits.
Crystal 10, Priory 4
The Gryphons opened PAL Lake Division play by cruising past the Panthers.
Crystal (1-0 PAL Lake, 5-0 overall) set the tone in the bottom of the first, scoring five times. The Gryphons added a run in the second and four more in fourth, to offset Priory’s four-run seventh.
Nick Loew Connor Uchida each drove in two runs for Crystal, which was more than enough support for starting pitcher Brandon Ma, who worked the first five innings, scattering six hits.
Priory (0-1, 3-2) got two RBIs from Kai Park.
Westmoor 16, Jefferson 3
A six-run third and a five-run fifth helped the Rams to the mercy-rule win over the Grizzlies.
Ten players had an RBI for Westmoor (1-0 PAL Lake, 5-1 overall), led by Tiernan Murphy, who went 4 for 5 with a double and three RBIs. Matt Cote, Nick Au and Adolfo Fitoria all added two RBIs apiece for the Rams.
Au got the win, allowing one unearned run on just two hits in four innings of work.
Jefferson falls to 0-2 in Lake play and 0-8 overall.
In other action ...
Harker (1-0 PAL Lake, 2-3) overall scored four runs in the second inning to propel the Eagles to a 5-3 win over South City (0-1, 2-3).
Isaac Gradek drove in five runs to lead Design Tech (1-0 PSAL, 2-4 overall) to a 31-0 win over Summit Tahoma (0-1, 0-3).
College baseball
San Mateo 14, De Anza 5
The Bulldogs took the second of a three-game set in San Mateo, putting up double digit runs again.
CSM (5-0 Coast North, 15-8 overall) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, added three more in the third and all but put the game away with a six-run sixth.
De Anza (0-5, 11-13) scored four of its five runs in the eighth.
Dylan Hillman had a pair of doubles and drove in four runs for the Bulldogs, while Josh Parras plated a pair, as well.
Michael Volkman got the win for CSM, working seven innings, allowing one run while scattering seven hits, along with seven strikeouts.
CSM will go for the three-game sweep at 1 p.m. Saturday in Cupertino.
Skyline 12, Cañada 11
A run in the top of the ninth gave the Trojans the cushion they needed to hold off the Colts in Game 2 of a three-game set.

Skyline (5-0 Coast North, 19-5 overall) will go for the three-game sweep at 1 p.m. Saturday in San Bruno.
That ninth-inning loomed large as Cañada (0-5, 11-13) scored in the bottom of the ninth. Skyline took a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Colts rallied to take a 6-5 lead with four runs in the second and two more in third.
Both teams scored three in the sixth before Skyline scored three runs in its final two at-bats to pull out the win.
Trey Johnson drove in three runs for Skyline, while Nick Tobin added a pair.
Justin Selcher led Cañada with four RBIs, while Chris Arce drove in two for the Colts.
Softball
Menlo-Atherton 18, Castilleja 3
The Bears gave the Gators a rude welcome to PAL play as they beat up the recent WBAL transplants in a non-league matchup.
M-A (4-2) scored eight runs in the first and five more in both the second and third innings to post the three-inning mercy-rule win. Juliana Pandolfo and Gracy Nava each drove in four runs to lead the offense for the Bears. Cary “Veggie” Maletis added two RBIs for M-A, as well.
Nava got the win in the circle, giving up three runs on two hits.
Burlingame 11, Half Moon Bay 3
The Panthers earned their first win of the year, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first to set the tone in a non-league win.
Kiley Lyons led the offense for Burlingame (1-3 overall), going 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Naomi Leslie, Eleni Menicou and Sophie Lin each added an RBI for the Panthers, as well.
HMB (5-5) got RBIs from Bailey Avila, Kylie King and Sydney Sarabia.
Carlmont 6, King’s Academy 5
The Scots won their second straight , scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth to get past the Knights in a PAL Bay Division game.
Carlmont (2-1 PAL Bay, 2-5 overall) led 3-0 after the first inning, but King’s (1-1, 4-2) tied it with three runs in the top of third. The Scots regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but the Knights took their first lead, 5-4, with two runs in the top of the sixth.
But Carlmont matched King’s with two runs in the bottom of the frame to take the win.
Daniella Smit drove in a pair of runs for the Scots, while Zoey Wodarczyk had three hits for Carlmont.
King’s got two RBIs from Bella Giles.
St. Ignatius 7, Notre Dame-Belmont 5
The Wildcats continue their tour of the Peninsula, scoring four runs over the final two innings to pull out the non-league win over the Tigers.
SI (7-0 overall) led 2-0 after the first inning and made it 3-0 in the third. NDB (5-2) got on the scoreboard with a tw0-run fifth and scored three more in the sixth, but couldn’t stop the Wildcats from adding on.
Juliette Ramirez drove in four runs to lead the NDB offense.
Valley Christian 10, Aragon 0
A six-run second inning carried the Warriors to the mercy-rule win over the Dons.
Taylor Workman and Elizabeth Magness each had a single for Aragon (5-8 overall), the only two hits for the Dons.
Valley Christian improves to 8-2 on the season.
Design Tech 13, Jefferson 3
The Dragons scored three runs in the first, second, third and sixth innings to cruise past the Grizzlies in a non-league win.
Jeneva Fletcher drove the offense for D Tech (3-3 overall), going 5 for 5 with five RBIs. Desiree Torres drove in a pair of runs for the Dragons, as well. Ella Lewis got the win in the circle, pitching a complete game no-hitter. She did give up three runs, only one earned, and walked five while striking out six.
Jefferson fall to 0-2 on the season.
College softball
San Mateo 8, Ohlone-Fremont 0
Three Bulldog pitchers combined to hold the Renegades to just six hits as CSM posted the 8-run, mercy-rule victory.
Nia Mapa got the win with three innings of three-hit ball. Gianna Tassio and Kendall Barmore each pitched one inning to wrap things up.
Love Cabanas homered and drove in three runs lead CSM (4-1 Coast, 23-2 overall), while Emma Kinder added two RBIs.
Ohlone falls to 0-5 in conference play and 9-11 overall.
