Editor,

Proposition 50 replaces the map drawn by the voter-approved independent citizens commission with a map drawn by politicians for politicians behind closed doors. Modoc in the same district as Marin is ridiculous. The independent commission drew the current districts after months of hearings and discussions.

Excellent letter. Just another chance for Democrats to seize total control of our one party state. What good is our vote if Democrat's can change it anytime they want?

Mick

Wait. Isn’t voting the direct expression of the people’s will?

Dirk van Ulden

Mick - democracy is out the window when a proposition is using calibrated language to fool the voters. We see this continually with bond measures in which the population is misled by using ballot language that obfuscates the real issue. It is a slippery slope. Since Newsom pushed this, it should be a red flag for all.
