Editor,
The recent letter to the editor [Oct. 4] by Harry Moody supports a “yes” vote on Proposition 50, using a basketball team analogy to explain how Texas is creating an unfair advantage with midterm redistricting. However, being told by the referee that one team gets to play with more players is only half the story, because the total number of players on the court is fixed, i.e., fixed number of representatives.

Hilarious. Allow me to expand upon the unwritten portion of Mr. Moss’s analogy. Imagine these two teams (the Reds and the Blues) are comprised of biological women, such as in the WNBA and the WTA. Democrats are now changing the rules such that one team, the Reds, must reduce their number of players while the Blues increase their number of players. But the Blues are changing the rules so the can bring in ringers in the form of biological men claiming to be biological women. The Blues realize that they can’t win if they don’t cheat. Vote NO on the threat to democracy known as Proposition 50.
