The last time the El Camino Colts were in the Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division was 2022-23. That was when PAL boys’ soccer was a three-tiered league, with head coach Ken Anderson’s team getting knocked to the lower Lake Division by virtue of a 0-10 Ocean record.
El Camino (15-0-1 PAL Ocean, 18-0-1 overall) hasn’t lost a league game since. After twice winning the PAL Lake championship with a cumulative record of 11-0-5, the Colts found themselves back in the Ocean Division this season as the PAL realigned to a two-tiered league. El Camino finished off its undefeated run through Ocean play Friday with a 2-0 win at Westmoor.
The Colts not only went unbeaten in league play, they won all three of their non-league games to go 18-0-1 overall. El Camino has now gone 29 straight regular-season games without a loss.
Senior forward Andrew Tafolla scored twice in the win over Westmoor (7-8-1, 7-8-1), running his season total to 13 goals. Senior midfielder Emilio Jimenez assisted on Tafolla’s first score. The second goal came on a penalty kick. Tafolla now leads the Colts with 42 points. Senior Daniel Figueroa leads the team with 15 goals and ranks second with 41 points.
