It was a close one most of the way, and Redwood City trailed 2-0 until the fourth. But a four-run rally in the fourth gave RWC the lead, and they kept adding on with two in the fifth and 10 more in the sixth to win via mercy-rule.
Ten different RWC players got in the hit column, with Matthew Molinelli going 2 for 3 with a walk, a double, two RBIs and two runs. Declan McLaughlin added two hits with an RBI, Logan Blackburn and Lachlan Morello tabbed two hits apiece, and Blackburn and Luke Rakow each drove in two runs.
Morello earned the win on the mound, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits through five innings of work. Quintin Solbeck closed it out with a scoreless seventh, walking one while striking out two.
RWC advances tp the elimination bracket quarterfinals, and will face Pacifica at Red Morton Park, Tuesday, at 4 p.m.

Starting pitcher Sam Demchak went the distance as Pacifica ousted Menlo-Atherton in an elimination game at Red Morton Park.
Demchak allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five. M-A countered with starter Jordan Benkis, who went 2 1/3 innings before relievers Ian Smith and Ryan Masetti took over. The game was tied 1-1 till the fourth, when Pacifica jumped ahead with a two-run rally.
In the fourth, William Gatley got hit by a pitch and Sean Basanez walked to start the inning. An errant pickoff throw allowed Gatley to score. Then after Michael Demchak reached on an error via sacrifice bunt, Basanez swiped home on a wheel steal to go up 3-1. Pacifica added one run in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
Angelo Vinje led Pacifica, going 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored. Uzziah Hermosillo added a double, and Michael Demchak tripled. M-A totaled four hits, with Luca Fagnini going 1 for 1 with a walk and an RBI.
