The College of San Mateo Bulldogs got back to doing what they do best — winning.

After seeing their 48-game winning streak snapped Tuesday with a 2-1 loss to Hartnell, the Bulldogs (10-1 Coast Conference, 33-1 overall) started another win streak Thursday with a 10-0 victory at San Jose City College (5-6, 12-31-1).
CSM powered its way to a five-inning mercy-rule win, with Ale Phillips, Hannah Ames and Lilyana Williams each homering. After the Bulldogs scratched out an unearned run in the first, Phillips connected for a two-run shot to make it 3-0. Ames and Williams followed, each clubbing two-run homers in the fifth, before Marilyn Rivas capped the five-run inning with an RBI single give CSM the pivotal 10-run lead.
Freshman left-hander Lola Sierra worked three shutout innings to earn the win, allowing two hits while striking out two. Her record improves to 19-1. Right-handers Nia Mapa and Gianna Tassio followed with one scoreless inning apiece.
CSM now has three players with double-digit home runs. Johnson has 12 on the year, ranking fourth among California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) hitters. Ames’ homer was her 10th, tied for eighth. Mapa still leads the team with 14 home runs, ranking third in the state. Cuesta’s Addy Finegan leads all 3C2A hitters with 18 homers.
The Bulldogs are running away with the 3C2A team home run lead with 67. Antelope Valley ranks second in the state with 44. CSM also ranks third in the state with a .391 team batting average, first among Northern California teams.
