I teach third grade at Central Elementary School in Belmont. I am dedicated and passionate about what I do, and proud to be in my 18th year of teaching. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. The outstanding teachers that I work with are extremely professional, caring and committed.
We don't want to lose them.
In one year, I watched three excellent teachers leave our staff due to the difficulty of supporting a family on a teacher's salary in the Bay Area. If we want to keep our outstanding teachers, we must offer salaries that are competitive with neighboring districts. We need Measure A to provide us with the funds to improve our local teacher salaries. Measure A would also prevent cuts to important academic programs. Let's ensure that our students continue receiving an excellent, comprehensive education.
The high quality of our local schools is important for families. It also helps keep area property values high. Please help us keep our great teachers, and preserve the high quality of education our community expects. Vote
