Which brings us to Measure G which was passed in November 2019. This measure was designed to address road repairs, maintaining neighborhood police patrols, attracting and maintaining local business, maintaining city parks and playgrounds, and maintaining and repairing park structures for children and youth.

And on the city’s website we do see expenses for “Pavement management program, side walk repair, streetlight pole replacement, city wildfire mitigation, and street rehabilitation program, Police facility HVAC replacement and roof repair.” While all are worthy and necessary areas to be addressed certainly maintaining neighborhood police patrols is a rather important to the citizens.

I’d be very curious if there was a breakdown or percentage of just how much Measure G funds went to retaining and hiring the Police Department.
