Editor,

Now that this irresponsible GOP tax bill — with massive tax cuts for Trump and his wealthy friends and large corporations — will likely become law, ordinarily I would expect voters to punish those who voted for this shameful bill at the midterms and beyond.

Chris: "are you trying to make a point Jorg- if so, it is escaping me." Sorry, Chris, - I thought I had made my point abundantly clear. Let me try again: Trumpsky has claimed time and again that the tax reform (which I call tax deform) will reduce taxes for the middle. Since he just about always lies, we can safely assume that he lies this time, too, which means that his tax "reform" won't reduce taxes for the middle, but actually increase the tax burden. Did that help? Simple logic, Chris.

I admire the rationale of Trump supporters. The "rich" are taking it on the chin because they will no longer be able to deduct the taxes they pay on their federal tax form. No the RICH are getting the lion's share of the breaks. The middle class are taking it on the chin. The people who blindly followed our President and believed all he promised are the ones that will be hurt by these tax "breaks" the most. It's taken almost 40 years for the Republicans to finally get within striking distance of Social Security and Medicare, totally supported by citizens contributions, to finally get to gut them also. Congratulations people.

I don't think liberals in California realize what a tax cut is? All and I mean all tax rates will be reduced for individuals in our country. The standard deduction will increase from 12K to 24K. You happen to live in California where people who itemize will no longer be able to write off their state and local taxes on the federal tax return. Seems to me a state problem not a federal problem. You do realize that right? It is the rich in California and New York and other high tax states that will taking it on the chin the most, not the middle class or poor in our country like you and others incorrectly state.

Didn't you hear Trumpsky claim that the taxes would be reduced for the middle class? Why on flat Earth would that liar speak the truth, - even for once?

Conway must be the happiest guy in CA about pot being legalized. Based on his comment he.s smoking more dope than anybody since Bob Marley. The tax breaks for the middle class all expire The tax breaks or the rich do not. By 2027 the middle class will pay $5.3 T more per decade while the already rich will pocket $5.8T over that period. The resulting hole in the deficit will cause Republicans to attempt again to destroy Medicare like they did after the Bush cuts, which at least had the virtue of truly being across the board. Only 29% of the population is in favor of this tax scam, mainly the ultrarich and people like Conway who believe everything that Trump spews.

please read the prospective tax policy changes before commenting, you really do show how ignorant you are. Do you know how many people itemize vs. taking the standard deduction in our country? All tax brackets will have a lower rate. Then again arguing with you is futile, good luck Dan W, whoever you are, you might want to educate yourself on taxation, you are obviously misinformed and use speculation as a form of argument.
