This sheriff saga has covered none of the players in glory. Now, with Christina Corpus seemingly gone, attention rightly turns to the supervisors. Many county voters supported Measure A because it was clear Corpus had totally lost the confidence of her department and allowing her to remain as sheriff was untenable. It was not a vote of confidence in the supervisors, many of have questionable histories with Corpus themselves. We will have our chance to express our feelings about them in future elections.
For now, the best thing for them to do is appoint an experienced law enforcement leader without an agenda or political baggage and let him or her start repairing the damage done to the Sheriff’s Office. Noelia Corzo’s intention of appointing someone focused on fighting the Trump administration, and other supervisors’ attempts to war-game how voters will behave in 2026 or 2028, shows exactly why voters are reticent about giving supervisors control over the Sheriff’s Office in the first place. If they value their jobs, supervisors should stop politicking about the Sheriff’s Office and move on to addressing the many other issues facing the county.
Now that’s what I call a Big Beautiful Letter, Mr. de Regnaucourt. I’d recommend our current crop of supervisors and so-called officials begin putting the welfare of American citizens before that of invaders to our country. TDS-infected resistance and temper tantrums should play no part in making policy. We should all remember that when people show you who they are, believe them, and vote them out of office. Vote for America first candidates.
