To the Editor,
The Peninsula Humane Society seems to be in trouble and rightfully so.
As an example, the society showed total irresponsibility and lack of concern for animals and respect for those who really care about animals.
I submit a sad example for two very caring families that occurred on Christmas Eve.
One family was coming from Hayward to San Mateo. On the way over the family noticed some movement on the road. The driver backed up only to find six small puppies in a box.
On arrival in San Mateo they stopped at my house and we cared for these puppies by feeding them with a latex glove filled with baby formula.
While this was being done I notified the Humane Society and they dispatched an animal control officer. The animal control officer said he would do all in his power to save the pups.
The two families requested to be notified before they did anything to euthanize the pups.
Needless to say the Humane Society with total disregard and decency of a phone call the six pups were euthanized.
This organization should be shut down until they learn how to operatie a caring agency for animals and the respect for citizens' request and at the very least the decency of a 35? phone call.
On the following day I called the Peninsula and told them what happened and told them I was appalled and was told it was OK for me to take any action I wanted to.
Is this Butcher Shop a humane organization or a political rip off racketeering bunch of animal butchers?
Respectfully,
Al Ferrer
