In reading the April 12 letter to the editor from Mr. Guttenbeil of Redwood City, I was unaware Dr. Fauci had the ability to override the policies of President Trump during the COVID pandemic.

The statement Dr. Fauci was not elected but was able to do much damage (according to Mr. Guttenbeil) gives reason to think. Mr. Musk (also not elected) has been able to override many of the government norms. This seems to be a trend under a Trump administration. To me, it speaks to the ability to govern. Yes, it has only been three months, the markets have had a major reset, support systems for the American people have been stripped, and persons who are here in the United States legally are deported without trial or cause.

Kamala was not elected to run for president either - she was able to override government norms. Maybe if the Liberals didn't do that - they wouldn't have lost so bad.

Ms. Freydoz - please enlighten me, "support systems for the American people have been stripped". Which systems? No systems have been stripped for legally entitled residents. Yes, for those who never paid a dime into it and were just mooching, they are being taken away which will help keeping our systems solvent. DOGE is long overdue.

Thanks for your letter, Ms. Freydoz, but I note you don’t seem to share the sentiment that Mr. Musk is doing damage assuming he is, as you describe, “able to override many of the government norms.” Markets have had major resets in the past. I haven’t lost any support systems but perhaps non-Americans have, and that’s okay. Persons who are in the US legally are not the same as persons who are US citizens. There’s a difference. Some folks are in the US on a provisional basis. They’re in the US legally but are not US citizens and they can be deported if they violate the terms of their stay. BTW, can you tell us why Dems are attempting to keep criminals and terrorists in the US?
