No, Mr. Harry Roussard, those you so shamelessly call “out-of-touch liberals and dimwits” are not upset because Trump won, albeit, barely compared to his predecessor’s landslide (from the letter to the editor “Trump won, get over it” in the Jan. 19 edition of the Daily Journal).
What concerned, caring Americans can’t, and shouldn’t, “get over” is the shame Donald Trump has brought over the office of the U.S. presidency. What President Obama left for Trump to continue to build on, he has done his best to destroy, while unabashedly taking credit for what has gone well, mainly thanks to the work done by the Obama administration. The respect and support from the world at large that we enjoyed after Obama rebuilt our standing left by his Republican predecessor, is in shackles, and getting worse whenever Trump opens his mouth. The competence, dignity and level-headedness so characteristic of President Obama, has been replaced by an incompetent administrator, science-denier, childish, thin-skinned name-calling, sexual assaulter and womanizer: a laughingstock around the world and an embarrassment here at home. What a contrast.
That’s what we can’t “get over,” Mr. Roussard. No one who loves this country and wants the best for it should. However, the shrinking crowd of Trump supporters should try to get over President Obama and the fact that he won both the popular and electoral votes, with comfortable margins, while the Republican presidents before and after barely made it. Stop bashing Obama and instead begin holding Trump accountable.
Get over it or don't get over it Jorg - it's your choice. Meanwhile Trump supporters are absolutely uplifted with excitement over this president and the dismantling of Obama's progressive socialist policies. As much as your demean Trump supporters Jorg - you and your ilk and the left leaning media can't bully us to remain quiet and we are so thankful for our president and the fact that crooked Hillary, no matter how she tried to rig and fix the election, still lost. Trump 2020 - taking our country back from the open border, socialists that put illegal immigrants ahead of American citizens.
Thank you, Chris, for your inadvertent support for my “No getting over Trump” argument. You exposed far more eloquently than I could, - the inexplicable adoration and worship of a seriously misplaced, unpatriotic con-artist.
GDP growth between 3-4%, the work being done on trade such as NAFTA, stronger immigration policy, the diminishing strength of ISIS, are all positives. Yes, Trump the man is flawed and so is/was Obama only in a more covert way. As much as there are many things that make me wince about Trump the Man, Trump the business person is much more in tune with growing America than the progressive movement to open borders to fill the liberal voting base and growing government spending to support that. That is not governing nor is equating the rights of non-citizens with those that are.
