I find Steven Howard’s reply on the abortion issue to be disingenuous and angry. He proceeds to reiterate a completely uncompromising and intolerant view of the abortion issue that is based purely on religious beliefs, then attacks anyone who refuses to do all the “compromising” to accommodate such people. SMH.
He gripes about all the discord over the issue and states that he wants compromise, yet, hasn’t stated the slightest practical, specific solution to bridging the two sides closer. As if abortion hasn’t ever been argued over before. Again, SMH.
Perhaps Steven can’t see why some women would be angry over the threat of others imposing their religious beliefs over them on such a personal and life shattering matter.
Steven needs to understand that not everyone shares those religious beliefs. Your religion — or anyone else’s — is of no concern to the reproductive rights of women who do not share those beliefs. The desire to impose those beliefs in policy is the quintessence religious intolerance.
I’m looking into my mirror on this issue and I’m fine with what I see, Steven. I don’t think you’ve looked hard enough into your own.
