Editor,

The story “There’s always hope” at the top of the front page in the Oct. 29 paper is what makes me read the Daily Journal every day. Bill Silverfarb’s wonderful piece on the transplant is inspirational, meaningful to everyone. In my case, decades ago, I had a successful corneal transplant in my left eye. I have been an organ donor ever since. While my operation was not life-saving, unlike the Segundo-Crawford procedures, I have been eternally grateful to the nurse who died in a car accident and made arrangements for the donation of her corneal tissue. Everyone should provide for organ transplantation, in my opinion.
