Disappointed in Mullin

I was sorely disappointed in his lack of energy, passion or specifics on action. The people leaving early reflected my observation. Repeating the problems that were obvious to everyone attending was not solution. We all know the Democratic Party is in the minority. His suggestion that this Congress wait out two years until the miracle votes arrive was a constant thread.

With very specific issues from two constituents (a fired education lawyer and a 75-year-old man trying to run a home for the disabled), he sadly shook his head. Leadership needs to be visible now. His thoughts and prayers to them were generic bullet points from his website.

I believe a true leader, a compassionate problem solver would have right then and there asked them to submit their contact info to his team for a further meeting on how he can help them.

If his stated “passion issue” is poverty, what has he been doing to successfully meet his unstated goals, besides complaining that the Democrats “don’t hold the gavel.”

His website is down today (March 21) and the phone goes to answer machine. Without any more visible commitment from Mullin, I am afraid that he will remain No. 415 in the Congressional leadership roster.
