Thank you John Horgan for literally being the first columnist in the Bay Area to point out local government’s hypocrisy regarding its clarion call of “affordability.” There are so many new local taxes on the table in the Bay Area it’s hard to keep track. The highly popular sales tax increase of course makes everything (save food and medicine) more expensive (not to mention its regressive nature in taxing the poorest among us). Your insight and relative skepticism is much needed.
