I was delighted with your Christmas day edition, particularly Dorothy Dimitre's carefully crafted guest perspective piece on the opinion page. Imagine, indeed, all the fine hoped for objectives for humankind which she and John Lennon "Imagine." Wonderfully inspiring!
The long following guest perspective by Christopher Leydig, however, was another matter entirely. As a "self-described wordsmith," he sure did use an awful lot of words, but I had to read it three times to piece together what he was talking about. As I understand him, he is not a global warming denier. His point seems to be that despite the fact that we know global warming is real, we are over-propagandized on that point. On the other hand, many products - XBoxes, PlayStations, large televisions and even hybrid cars and their batteries, all contribute to the problem.
So it is a problem no matter what you do. On the other hand, it may not be "feasible to sign onto a treaty dedicated to truncating the very emissions we sow for prosperity;" so what is one to do? Huh? After all those words, I just couldn't "imagine" what his point was, if any.
