A glossy, four-color mailer just arrived asking for my vote for Measure G. Sorry, but no. With our taxes, the College of San Mateo has spent millions on an athletic club that rivals any private facility, lavish landscaping, country-club tennis courts, athletic fields and other upscale amenities that went far beyond the "needs” the district identified.
After spending millions for these luxuries, the district is planning on tearing down the horticultural department for a parking lot and doing away with the program entirely. Why? Not enough money.
Now, after two costly tax bonds and what is clearly irresponsible use of taxpayer money, the district wants even more. Incredible! I suggest every resident drive up to CSM to see how "citizen oversight committees” have used our money.
Shame on them.
