Rudy Horak, a 47-year resident of Burlingame, died peacefully June 20, 2017.
He was born in Astoria, Long Island, New York, and moved to California in 1959. He was a graduate of New York University. Before retirement he was associated with Lockheed-Missiles & Space, Litton-Mellonics, General Electric Company. He served on the boards of Boy Scout Troop 156, the Burlingame University Club, the Burlingame Citizens Oversight Committee and was named the best of Burlingame in 2007 for his avocation of charities in the Bay Area. Rudy was a longtime member of the Los Trancos Woods Community Marching Band as well as a longtime volunteer on the SS Jeremiah O’Brien, a World War II Liberty Ship.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 57 years and by sons Brad (Michelle) and Craig (Kelly) and grandsons Andy and Alex.
Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Burlingame, 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 11.
