Cate Blanchett, Bryan Cranston and Paddington Bear are up for prizes at London's Olivier Awards

LONDON (AP) — Cate Blanchett, Bryan Cranston and Paddington Bear are among the stars up for prizes at London’s Olivier Awards on Sunday. The event celebrates achievements in theater, opera, and dance. Nick Mohammed is hosting the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall. Ian McKellen, Helen Mirren, and Vanessa Williams are among the presenters. “Paddington: The Musical” and a revival of “Into the Woods” lead the nominations with 11 each. Acting nominees include Marianne-Jean Baptiste and Tom Hiddleston. The ceremony will feature performances from nominated musicals and mark anniversaries for “Phantom of the Opera” and “Wicked.” The West End is celebrating a strong post-pandemic return, though concerns about rising costs remain.
