Edward Guidotti, a San Francisco native, passed away on March 28, 2026 at the “young” age of 97.
Ed was born on December 21, 1928 to Ottavio and Eva (Vannucci) Guidotti. He graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1950 and enlisted in the US Navy, serving as an airman during the Korean War. He served with the Naval Reserves, rising to the rank of lieutenant, until his retirement in 1979. He was proud of his military service and considered himself a true patriot.
In 1952 he married Adriana Giachini and subsequently raised three children in South San Francisco. Ed worked as a beer salesman, befitting his extremely social personality. He was a member of All Souls Catholic Church in South San Francisco for 72 years, and a member of YMI (Young Men’s Institute) Council #32 for 60 years.
Ed is survived by his wife of 73 years, Adriana, his son David and daughter-in-law Marie of Reno, NV; his son Michael and daughter-in-law Karen of San Carlos, CA; eight grandchildren: Chris, Jason, Sara and Lauren Guidotti, and Jennifer, Nick, Danny and Benjamin King, and twelve great-grandchildren. Daughter, Lynn, predeceased Ed on March 15, 2026.
The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at the Italian Cemetery in Colma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or YMI Council #32.
