Debra “Debby” Stephenson

Debra “Debby” Stephenson, 68 of San Mateo CA, passed away on 1/1/2018 in her home in San Mateo. She was a much beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, Nana, and friend to all who knew her. Her laughter lit up every room she entered, and her bright spirit touched everyone she met.

Debra was born in Seattle Washington on 10/31/1949 to Marj & Roy Grennan. She worked as an Account Executive at Bay Pacific Health Plan and Aetna for over 20 years. She received many accolades and awards in her field, and enjoyed great success during her career. She enjoyed traveling and more importantly spending time with her grandchildren. Debby was actively involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

Debby is survived by her husband David, a 40 year resident of Foster City and current resident of San Mateo. David and Debby celebrated their 35th wedding Anniversary on October 9th of last year. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Marj Matter and is also survived by her step-father Otto Matter of Foster City; her daughter Michelle & grandsons Caden and Ryder of Seattle; Stepdaughter Heather (Stan), and granddaughters Madelyn and Jocelyn of Foster City; her stepson Matthew (Ashley) and grandchildren Tyler and Alexis of San Bernardino; and her brother Kevin (Kathy) and their son Ryan of Half Moon Bay.
