It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Dan Sullivan, who died on March 23, 2025, at the age of 74.
A lifelong resident of San Mateo County, Dan was a man of many passions and interests, from religion and philosophy to a deep love for cars. He was known for his warmth, his ability to forge lasting friendships, and his unwavering loyalty to those he considered close.
Dan was the founder and owner of Dan Sullivan Painting, a business he proudly ran for over four decades. Through his dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, he built a trusted reputation in the San Francisco Bay Area for both residential and commercial painting services. His legacy will endure, as the business transitions to his long-time business partner and close friend, Angel Romo.
Dan leaves behind his daughter Erin, who is married to Sean Jones, along with their two daughters, Sophia and Casey. He is also survived by his sisters Linda & Darcy, 5 nieces & nephews and 6 grandnieces & grandnephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen Cannon Randick Sullivan, who passed away in 2019, as well as his parents, Daniel Joseph Sullivan and Barbara Mae Dufau. He was also predeceased by his sweetheart, Laura Evanchik, who passed away in 2023. Dan has now been reunited with all of them in eternal peace.
A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends at the Iron Gate on April 18, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Peninsula Humane Society, a local non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare. Donations will help support their mission of finding loving homes for adoptable pets, including Dan’s two beloved cats, JonJon and Ivy, who are in need of a stable, caring home. To donate, please visit: https://phs-spca.org/.
Dan’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
