Blanca “Tita” Haydee Pineda died peacefully Feb. 8, 2017.
She was born on May 24, 1950, in Guatemala. She graduated and majored in accounting, then moved to San Mateo in 1990. She worked as a custodian for Gramercy On The Park for 22 years. Tita was a dedicated parishioner at St. Matthew serving as an eucharistic minister and belonged to the Legion de Maria. “She was always willing to help others in need. Tita will be deeply missed by family and friends.”
Survived by husband Roberto Pineda; three daughters Kleeli Moscozo (Jorge), Olga Pineda and Vivian Santos (Boris); seven grandchildren Jorge, Luis, Diego, Ashton, Kai, Damian and Izabella. Preceded in death by her parents Ignacio and Rosalina Garcia.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. followed by a funeral mass 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1 Notre Dame Ave., San Mateo, CA. Farewell viewing will be 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA. Interment at Cementerio San Juan Sacatepéquez, Guatemala.
Donations in her memory can be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Mateo.
